We decided to cancel the Thirty-One party due to the weather. Our first official fundraiser is still going strong. I'm closing my party on unday and have gotten some great sales. We are so happy with the sucess of the party so far. We were disappointed to not have the actual party and see all the great items. So I might have another party in the fall so we cal all see the great items they have. I'm looking forward to using my half off hostess deal to get some great items for the Auction we're having at our 2nd Fundraiser in April. A few of you have even made monetary donations for items to use at the auction. We can't Thank You all enough for your generosity.
We have a hard time asking people for money, and find these types of fundraisers to be a win win for all of us. Not only are you helping us with this current adoption but your also getting some great items for yourself. Such a wonderful way to help each other!
I'll be updating the blog over the weekend, if Nian allows me the time to do so. As we are fundraising for this adoption we feel it's important that you all know where the money goes, what we have, and what we still need. Please know that while we are saving and raising money we were realistic last year and set aside money for some side adventures we knew we'd be having this year. Last weekends dinner with the sisters and their husbands is one of those things. It's a yearly event so we knew to plan ahead for it. A few weekend get away trips with Nian is another. We still want Nian to enjoy this year which is still so new and full of firsts for us all, especially since a lot of those will also be lasts as the only child. We certainly do not have any frivolous items on our list of things that much I can say. We've been saving gift certificates, and extra fun money for these few pre-planned adventures.
While it would really be cool to have lil lil brother from the same city, Louhe, as Nian we did find out that it could delay a match if we requested it. It was just a though on our end so we'll not pursue it. If we had more time we probably would, but we'd like to head back to China in Feb of 2017 so we will not be so specific. We did however find out that the picture taken of us from sister dinner IS good enough to include in our Dossier. We thought it might be too light towards the top, but we were told It's Perfect! So exciting to have 1 of the 3 couple pics need done! Now do you think I remembered to get a group photo while there so we'd have 1 of 8 group pics done!? Uh no.... As my sister Shellee says it's being a Mom that has me forgetting everything. I'll go with that!
