1 Samuel 2

Don't resent God's timing His blessings might not be immediate, but they will come if we are faithful to do what he says in his word! 1 Samuel 2

Update and then some

Well there really hasn't been much going on around the Buss house these last few weeks.  Last week we all had Strep which was tons of fun... not! Nian has a few more days of meds, which he doesn't mind taking since it's bubble gum flavor. Then we should all be ready for Spring, if it decides to come early like it's supposed to.

Nian has decided he needs his bed painted blue, and sticker it like Lightening McQueen in order for him to sleep better in it. lol. Can you guess what we'll be doing this weekend, weather pending?  You bet! If that's what it takes to get him excited about sleeping in his own bed then that's what we're going to do.  Well at least look at it cuz you know every penny counts at the Buss house.  Yet another reason we set aside some money.

I took a much needed afternoon off to have lunch with the girls. It was so nice to spend a few hours of adult, non work time out of the house. And my friend Lisa brought me some beautiful coasters she makes to put in our auction. Thank you again Lisa P for the wonderful donation!
Two of Four great Coasters!

Last week we got our approval email from our new home study agency, and the name of our case worker. It's nice to finally see that come through.  We meet with her this coming Thursday. Luckily she isn't doing the home inspection part of it since we garage sale/auction clutter around the house. To which she said every home has clutter so it's ok. Thanks again Jill for the great items for the garage sale, and auction!

We are excited to get this process started again.  Sometimes I am just amazed at how quick things are going, but at the same time we have a date range in mind for "comfortable" travel and don't want to rush it too much.  We have also been trying to figure out what figures we're going to looking at for travel.  CCAI is using a new hotel in Zhengzhou, and possibly in Beijing so that opens up all sorts of options/costs we're not totally sure about.

We are starting to get some donations for both our Auction in April and our garage sale in May.  A friend at church was able to secure us an Action Team gift card for $250 to use toward the food and supplies for our Dinner Fundraiser. Thank you Lori! Such a blessing and relief to not have to worry about that expense.  And with the great auction/bake sale items we are hoping this will be a successful night for us.
Spring Hand Towels - we'll also have Fall and Christmas

It's not a Hangover it's the Wine Flu!

A friend also told us about a couple of great Grant programs, and we sure hope we can get one of them later in our process. We also have long list of other grants to apply for. Lots of hard work ahead of us but it's SO WORTH IT!!!!

We just found out Aunt Bev and Uncle Adam have their soft TA.  They are hoping to travel to China April 6th to bring their daughter home.  Please join us in praying for them, their safe travels, and their daughters heart as they become a family!  We are SO SO excited for them and know what a wonderful experience this moment in their journey is for them.

Yesterday we went to our taxes prepared and got some good news about our return. We'll be able to add that amount and make a nice dent in our adoption funding. What a blessing that will be for us.
We actually had some good sun so we needed our shades! He's just too cute!

Today I got my Thirty One party items delivered. THANK YOU Sarah and everyone who ordered from my party.  We received a very nice donation from the sales.  God is good and continues to bless us.  We hope to do another party in late summer/early fall so there will be no weather cancellations for us!  I was able to get a few items for the auction thanks to some generous donations.

Nian has been rocking the Big Boy Pants a lot more this week. And the diaper has been coming off during the night with no accidents. so far anyway.  We are hoping to be diaper free by summer, if not sooner. We've not gone out and about with them on yet, but we did take a nice long walk with them on, and he fell asleep during this walk with no accidents.  We're getting there.

This week we had our Consultation appointment with the speech therapist. And yes my child said 1 word, in a whisper no less, then proceeded to not say another word..  all...  day.....  well maybe a few words at daycare, but not much at home.  UGH...  Talk about a war of the wills with the therapist in seeing who can get what they want first. We figured this would happen...  She did give us some homework, and copies of flash cards to work on.  Once we're approved for continued visits we're hopeful that he'll open up more.  But some of you know that's just the way Nian works.  Someday's he'll talk to you, someday's he won't. And bribery rewarding doesn't work with this boy!

Today is just a lazy day for us. Honestly I don't feel like doing anything though there is much to do.  Such is the life of a Mom. Wouldn't have it any other way!!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by and I'll try to update more as we move along this new, yet familiar, journey.

Blessing to you all!
