Packages and Progress

This weekend, well actually it started on Thursday but we've made a lot of progress, on A LOT of things....    And we mailed a few packages too! ;-)

First CCAI received our paperwork to "officially" start the adoption of lil lil brother.  I say that with 2 lil's since Isabel is the big sister, Nian is lil brother, so new brother is lil lil brother.  hey that's just the order of the kids in our house! And we Love it!!   Anyway...  We got our new Dossier guide, recap that's the massive paper chase we have to complete and send to China to get our LID (Log In Date) which once we have will allow us to get our match.  Some people like to search for their child, we prefer to let God guide us so unless he inspires us to do some hard searching we will wait for our match.  and both ways are OK!  It was nice to find out that we do not have to complete the required 13 docs to for our Dossier, we only have to complete 3 of them.  The CCCWA already has a SEALed  (the process of having our documents Notarized, Certified at the SOS, and then sent to the Chinese Consulate to be Authenticated) copy of our Birth Certs, and Marriage Cert so we only need a copy of this new Dossier. Which is wonderful because that also saves us at least $100 in copy, certification, authentication and courier costs!  2 of the remaining docs we were able to copy over form our first Dossier and just update with our current info, and i already have my employment verification letter so we currently have 3 of our 10 docs already...

Thursday we took Nian to his 6 month post palate surgery appointment, AND speech evaluation.  We are SO EXCITED to get him started with speech therapy.   Just playing phone tag with the office.  Joe is super excited to finally get some written material to start working with Nian on. Finally some direction.  LOOK OUT cuz I know this boy won't stop talking once he gets going lol.  Seriously we are scared, prepared, excited for that to happen. We can't wait to have more news on that front to share with you all.

That same day we also got those 2 documents I mentioned earlier notarized along with a few papers for our new home Study agency, which made me feel great.   We'll wait to get them certified and authenticated until we have Joe's employment letter, and our Police back ground checks.

Saturday morning I worked on getting everything together to send to our Home Study agency.  It was great to see my favorite "cry with me" postal worker Deb working at the counter when I went in. It's amazing the bonds you create with people during this whole process.  Our Home Study agency should get our papers tomorrow morning and that will start our Home Study update process. Another great cost savings there! Instead of doing a full out new home study they are going to do an update for us. 

I also mail the much awaited Package to China from Nian's birthday.  We received so many great donations and we were finally able to send them out. We know the orphanage in Louhe will use every item we sent them.  There sure is a need over there for cloths of all sizes. So many of you help us make this birthday wish a huge success. THANK YOU!!!!  We have been so blessed by so many of you and love to forward those blessings to others. 

I have my Thirty-One fundraiser party coming up this Wednesday night.  We are also working on getting donation items for our silent auction happening with our Pasta dinner and bake sale April 2nd. We've had a few people donate baskets which is greats, and a few gift cards.  If you would like to donate anything please let me know.  We'd love to get as many items as we can.  All proceeds go to our adoption/orphanage fees. Along with getting our new Dossier guide they also instruct us to check out the video about the guide. Which of course I watched, because there is nothing wrong with getting a refresher how to..  It reminded me again of what I thought the hardest part of the whole Dossier paper chase..  PICTURES.  Now you wouldn't think that would be a big deal, but to me it was one of the hardest things to collect.  We need 3 of just the two of us, and 8 of us with others. We started on them last night when we met my sisters for dinner.  1 down 10 more to go.
