1 Samuel 2

Don't resent God's timing His blessings might not be immediate, but they will come if we are faithful to do what he says in his word! 1 Samuel 2

A First and a Last

Nian will be baptized soon so we wanted to get his First haircut done.  Not technically his "first" one but his "first" one with us.  We were going to take him to my salon, but after much discussion we decided that this was a "Father/Son" event (sorry Lisa A).  Joe remembers going with his dad to the barber shop when he was little.  So Joe rescheduled his appointment to allow time for Nian to get his hair cut too. We put him in the seat by himself but he was having none of that.  So he sat on my lap which worked out good as I needed to hold his head a few times.  His new hair cut is way too cute and makes him look a little older than his 2.5 years.  Here are some before and after photos.

He also went with me to the Dentist office this last week.  While he didn't have any work done, he did like riding in the chair and almost opened wide for Jill to take a peak at his teeth. A familiar face kept him busy during the appointment.  He did great sitting on my lap.

He started taking both shoes and socks off on just about every car trip we take. At least the weather is starting to get warmer so that's helpful.  Luckily his new sandals will be a bit harder to get all the way off than his current shoes.

Today is my Last day home with Nian.  I head back to work tomorrow. While I am looking forward to getting back to work, I will miss spending my days with Nian, even those few unpleasant moments.  I know this time with him has been so useful and needed to help our bonding process.   He is doing great, but is still a bit nervous around a large group of people or people coming up too close to him.  We continue to work with his sleep pattern and hope playing with the kids at daycare will help him sleep through the night.  Tomorrow will be a BIG day for all 3 of us.

We thank God everyday for this boy who has enriched our lives beyond words. We feel so blessed that our good Lord entrusted us to help guide him through life.  We are looking forward to his baptism.

We pray God ministers to your needs, whatever they may be.  Blessing to you!
