I have to hand it to my Mother. I asked her the other day how she did it raising 4 kids. She said times were different back them. YES they were. To all of you who are/were stay at home Mom's my hats off to you!!! That's some hard work. Very rewarding I know, but hard work all the same. That thought had often run through my mind when I was off on leave with Nian. God Bless you for managing to do that! And for those of you who do/did daycare. Wow this day is for you too.
I can't forget the Mother's of our 4 legged kids out there either. Please don't dismiss someone's time as a Mother just because their child has 4 legs instead of 2! For some, those are the only children they will/may have. Just because they have 4 legs doesn't mean they are any less of a child than the 2 legged kind. You might not agree with me, and that's OK. Having been a mother to Two 4 legged kids I know how those Mothers feel. And please don't for a minute think having a 4 legged is any easier than a 2 legged. They are very much alike! Sadly our 4 legged kids don't hang around as long as most of our 2 legged ones, and THAT alone is enough to give a big shout out to a Mother of a 4 legged kid!

We headed into Rockford to support my brother in law by participating in the Relay for Life. Brian had surgery while we were in China, and has successfully beat it. We watched him and his good friend do their first lap around the track as 1st timers. Cousin Matt was there as well, along with the memory of Uncle Pete. Nian had a great time going around the track, getting a balloon and sucker too. We can't wait for next years! It was our fist time there and it's amazing how many things are going on around the track and how many people we saw with signs showing they were 24 hour walkers.

Yesterday my sisters threw a great shower for me. I am blessed to have such wonderful family and friends. Thank you all. One of the gifts we were blessed with was a homemade sheet set of Thomas the Tank Engine. We are hoping this will help Nian transition to his bed. Of course the shower wouldn't be complete without the family logo present! Love my last name!

Nian made an appearance at the end of the shower, as large groups of people still affect him. He did pretty good with it all, and I know everyone was excited to see him, some for the first time. Thanks for being patient with him. It really hasn't been that long since we got home! It's AMAZING how far he's come. We are almost at the 4 month mark of when we became a family. This little guy has overcome many challenges in his short little life. We pray that his wounds are healing, and we know each day we are all learning, trusting, and loving each other more!
Today he experienced his first time in a pool, at least to our knowledge. He had a great time playing with neighbors Jameson and Dillon. He also spent most of the day in the car May May (my mom) got for him. The car has a handle for Baba and me to push, and an insert to make a floor so his feet don't drag if we do push him with it. He also experienced his first "bird" by a very mature older women who didn't like being told to slow down as she raced down our road. Thanks lady.
Next weekend is Memorial weekend. Take a moment to remember those who are loved and lost, and also those who don't have someone to remember them. We will also being celebrating Papa's (my dad's) 75th Birthday. We'll have more 1st for Nian to experience over the weekend.
