Happy Chinese New Year

HAPPY Chinese New Year - Gong Xi Fa Cai, the Year of the Goat.  We will celebrate  with some special dishes for dinner.  Sadly none that I will "make" myself this year as it's a busy day here.  I wish we had picked up some extra items while in China to help celebrate the day.

Today was also our 1st Post Adoption visit from our new Home Study agency.  Our worker Kallie is AWESOME!!!  It was a pretty painless appointment.  We weren't sure what to expect but it went fast and painless. Nian was really good while she was here and he even waved, blew kisses, and High Fived her a few times. Our next appointment will be our 6th month review which of course will be much better weather for everyone.

Nian's sleep pattern is getting so much better.  He still wakes up 1-2 times a night and it takes a bit to get him back to slumber.  But it's a work in progress so we're doing what we can.  Typical for adoptive children so we're not too concerned with it.   I have put the potty training on hold as he'll be having 1 possibly 2 surgeries soon so we'll wait until he's done with his Pallet surgery.

The sun is actually shining today and I am so tempted to go for a walk. However is bone chilling cold out there -?? not sure what temp it's at but it's for a minus one.  So inside we will stay today.

Here are some pictures as promised.   Thanks for stopping by and have a Blessed Chinese New Year.

Waiting for our flight to Beijing at the Detroit airport on the way to China.

Selfie with Baba's phone in the van to Louhe to get Nian's passport docs.

He's big on either telling you 1 minute or talk to God about it.

Has a way with the girls already.  His friend Evaline.

Pearl River cruise. One of the tallest buildings in China.

Visiting the Buddhist Temple

YES this IS what Awesome looks like!

How'd you like to live here?  This is the exit ramp from the highway.

Dressed like Baba for our Consulate appointment. Not sure why he's upset here.

Picture I have been waiting over a year to get!  Waiting in the window for Baba to get home!

Wearing his Owl hat that cousin Bonnie got him, he'll even put it on himself before we go outside.

A gift from one of  Joe's clients.

  1. He is just so darn cute! We have not started potty training with XuBin either.. he just turned 3. I'm not in a huge rush but figure we'll tackle it at some point this Summer if he doesn't show much interest by then.
