We are very excited about this new year.. We are making some positive changes here and can't wait to get them started. New goals for us, and some tightening of the budget and we can't wait to get started... 👍
This is usually the time of year I start working on our adoption applications, but alas we will be waiting 1 more year before we start the process to bring little sister home. We at least have our MCC listed with our agency so we're "in line" so to say. And it usually takes a year longer to bring a daughter home than a son so we have time. Besides, if your documents are over a year old you have to redo them. 👀 and we're all about being frugal this year so no extra fees for us here.
I took the boys to Brenda's work to see Santa. Was hoping i'd get out of the picture this year..
The boys had their Preschool Christmas program. Well only 1 of them participated. We got to the church super early to get a good seat and when I said we're here for your program Cheng said "Not me". Well that was the end of that... and Nian, God bless him, loves to sing and knew the songs but just gets to nervous in front of big crowds so....
We had a good time at the extended Rule family party. The weather wasn't too bad, it had snowed pretty good that morning but had stopped for the rest of the day. Good waffles...
We had 3 full days of Christmas starting with Saturday at my parents with my sisters and their kids. Sunday was Joe's family. Nian has a new Buss Favorite..The boys had a great time at both parties and of course got way too many gifts..... Christmas morning was good here. I woke to the boys talking about the toothbrushes that were in their stockings. How they got them down on their own is beyond me, but at least they just got into them and not the gifts. We picked up some Chinese and started some new traditions.
I myself felt a bit overwhelmed again this year. Too Much Stuff.. Too many expectations from not only myself but other people. That's one of those goals I'll be working on for 2018. We already have our dates set for the lake and the boys are ready to get out there too. Cheng loves to shovel and he's pretty good at it too.
We rang in the new year at the bowling alley with Shellee and Patrick. The boys had a lot of fun, and the 2 hour time frame was just long enough, or maybe too long. We came back home and the boys were out by 730. So the adults had a few drinks and played a game then called it a night. Yeah I'm too old to stay up late ANY night of the week!
I've been working on Nian's 3 year post adoption report, which we do ourselves. And finding 8 pictures of him and his life. Easier said than done, even though I take a ton of pictures of those boys.. Nian's new thing is to stick him tongue out.. good times.. Chinese New Year is Feb 16, Year of the Dog. Cheng's 1 year is right behind that in March, but our social worker comes to the house for that one.
Thanks for stopping by and catching up with us. Another goal for this year is to update the blog more. Stay tuned....
Blessings to you as we start a new year.
